ensure we don't pull old results if utah-client fails

This fixes 2 issues:
1) cleanup utah created files before we run to make sure we don't
accidentally pick up something from a previous run

2) Cleaned up our pull file logic which would cause us to exit
early if any of the files we tried to pull were unavailable.
