Minor translations-related fixes

Added the POT file to revision control, so that the automatic translation
template imports can work with Launchpad. In the future Launchpad will
implement the feature of automatically regenerating templates, but for now they
must be manually updated and committed for them to be automatically imported.

Used only ASCII chars in the UI file, otherwise translations are not loaded.
