Description of the change

As discussed on IRC, let's drop some of the crufty quirks that are never
used in any supported upgrade to saucy, along with the base-installer kernel
handling which gives the wrong answer for UbuntuStudio.

I think there is still more that could be removed, so far I've found:

_test_and_warn_on_old_nvidia()
_checkAndInstallBroadcom()
_test_and_warn_on_nvidia_and_no_sse()
